We were so glad to hear from our friends Russ and Betsy, here visting from California, who invited us to head to Bridal Veil Falls with them and some family. The cool mist coming off the falls was so refreshing after so much hot hot hot!! Armed with the very basics of a barbque--a stove, some hot dogs and buns, condiments and water--we enjoyed a fun catch up time. It was a great reminder to me just how simple it can sometimes be to basically pick up and leave and have some great family time.

One of the advertising slogans around here right now is a "Day-cation" and I think that perfectly describes your little getaway. Sometimes that's all you need, huh?
